Exhibition Awards :: Artist of the Month
Each month, a student artist is awarded the "Golden Homer" as a symbol of respect, commitment, and achievement by his or her studiomates. Each advanced student votes for one of their classmates who they feel is most deserving of this honor, based on any criteria he or she feels is important to a successful studio. The students chosen demonstrate leadership in one or more of the areas: dedication to improve, maintaining a positive attitude, keeping a clean and welcoming studio, assisting classmates and teacher to achieve success, offering constructive and well-thought critique, and exemplifying pure skill in media and technique. The following students are past recipients of the award (in 2007-2008, the trophy was a Golden Alf, and in 2008-2009 the trophy was the Golden Astronaut.)
